    Crappity Crap!

    Sunday, September 2, 2007, 10:48 AM [General]

So it seems I spoke too soon as not a day or two after my last post my computer has gone mute. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong but until that time there will, alas, be no shows. Please send healing energies to my poor Sophia in the hopes that she talks to me soon!

It's also sucky because my brother bought me a mic for my birthday and I want to try it out! ARG!

    Finally!

    Wednesday, August 29, 2007, 07:58 PM [General]

Ugh. What a summer! I can't, however, believe it's almost over already. Although I have to admit that Autumn is my favourite time of the year but being my first summer in the city I do miss lazy afternoons on the back porch watching the stars.

It's also been a crazy five months with this move to Toronto and I'm happy to report things are on track and I'm moving into my own place (and not continuing to bug my newly married friends) THIS WEEKEND!!! YAY!

This is good news in so many ways, one being that I will finally have the time for regular shows again! Double yay!

I'm also thinking of attending the Toronto Pagan Pride day coming up on September 21 so if anyone's in the GTA and wants to meet up, drop me a line! It should be a load of fun!

And thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who's emailed me, commented and even (YAY!) left me an audio comment on the site. All your encouragment and astounding kind words have made me so humble and grateful. YOU are the reason why I continue with the show, knowing that there are people who listen and apply the concepts I've been talking about. Little do you know that you all are also helping me in the preliminary stages of a career change that I've decided upon so I greatly appreciate it. I've been on the air for almost two years now (*gulp*) and although there have been looong gaps between shows this year, it's almost ALWAYS been on my mind as it's given me so much because I've met all of you through it. So many of you have opened yourselves up to me, a complete stranger really, and entrusted me with some very vulnerable and personal things and how my shows have affected you in positive ways. I only hope you will one day feel the same way I do when you tell me this. It is honestly a completely unexpected side-effect of my verbal vomit! You are all such amazing people and I am YOUR biggest fan.

    Ultreya,

I'm getting mine in just a few short hours!

Have fun with it kids, treasure it, an era has come to and end. And I pray to the Gods that it's a good one!

    Pre-Birthday Reflections

    Saturday, July 14, 2007, 08:32 AM [General]

So this is it! Seven days left and I will officially be in my "late twenties". What a weird thought. Not that I'm all depressed or anything, not at all, but I'm always reflective around my birthday. What I can say about this past year is that it's been nothing but interesting and eye-opening. The experiences I've gone through and realizations that have come out of them are nothing short of a miracle and I am constantly amazed at how much of a different person I am now than I was at this time last year. Every area of my life has been touched in some way, shape or form and I have changed because of it. So, seeing as I'm a listy kind of person, here's a list of what I've learned in my 27th year on this planet:

    - Expect the unexpected. Buddha was right, nothing ever lasts, so appreciate what you have today for tomorrow it may be gone. And if it does go, don't cling to what could have been had things been different. Remember that nothing lasts, do the best you can and if that means being forced to move on, do so. Just make sure you learn from it.

    - Love is weird. It's not textbook. It's not a movie. Love comes in unexpected places in unexpected ways, recognize it and be damn grateful when it happens.

    - Sometimes people are worth the aches and pains to keep in your life.

    - Trust yourself, trust your gut, it's telling your important things all the time, especially things you don't want to hear but must.

    - It all comes down to you. The quality of your life only rests upon you and no one else. Once you take responsibility for all that is in your life you'll be surprised at how much lighter you feel. Remember that it's how you respond to situations in life that will determine the positivity or negativity of any given situation.

    - Family is gold, family is numero uno, but never forget you need to put yourself and your own life first but you won't be any good to anyone else if you don't have your own junk figured out.

    - Trying is failing with honour.

    - As Mick Jagger says in one of my favourite tunes: "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need." Emphasis on the need.

    - Health. It's the most important thing you've got, don't screw it up.

    - Your friends are the family you choose for yourself, remember that, treasure it, be grateful for them and for the Gods' sake let them help you out from time to time, they want to help!

    - No, having a boy/girlfriend will NOT solve your lonliness issues. Only you can do that.

    - Acceptance of yourself is the ONLY way you can have others accept you and is the only way for you to be truly happy.

    - Feel the fear and do it anyways.

    - It starts with you and ends with you.

I'm looking forward to my 28th 'cause I swear, if it's anything like this past year, it's gonna be an interesting ride!

    Health

    Saturday, July 7, 2007, 09:50 AM [General]

Hello my loves! It's our lucky day (and not just because it's 07/07/07 either!), I have just finished recording a new show and it's in the process of being converted and uploaded! Look for it within the hour!

The topic is technically on health but, well, admittedly that only happens in the last ten minutes. *sheepish grin*

So you also get some Harry Potter talk, Live Earth talk (kind of a narrative actually as I kept the TV on while the bands played) and some email sharing!

So going on the Live Earth theme, be good to yourself and be good to the Earth. Yes, that means, *gasp*, you will have to make some sacrifices that may seem inconvenient (pardon the pun) but suck it up, it's what we have to do now that we've fucked it all up. But you can start with little things, change your lightbulbs to energy efficient ones (us Canadians have to anyways as come 2010 it's law to ONLY use those lightbulbs...YAY!!), for God's sake stop it with the plastic bags! Buy a few reusable ones and keep them in your car or tie an elastic around one and keep it in your own bag for emergencies.

Water bottles. *sigh* I just read a really great article in MacLean's all about water bottles and tap water. Did you know that 80% of water bottles NEVER get recycled? That makes me want to puke, get your butt on over to Green Feet and get yourself an enviro water bottle that's not made of plastic and can be reused time and again.

Get off your butts kids. We have it too easy these days and it's cost us so now it's time to stop being lazy and do something

And you can do it all the while listening to my show! Ha!

    Cheers!
    Em
